  • Bridgwater & Taunton College

    We are proud to partner with Bridgwater and Taunton College, part of the University Centre Somerset (UCS) College Group. Through this partnership we can offer our tenants free online and in-person courses, covering a wide range of skills and qualifications.

  • Somerset Chamber of Commerce

    Shal have been members of Somerset Chamber of Commerce since 2025. This network of over 500 local businesses connects us to partners across Somerset, raising our profile and providing access to funding opportunities and business innovations.

  • South West Business Council

    Shal have been members of the South West Business Council (SWBC) since 2025. SWBC is a community interest company focused on bringing members together to support a thriving South West economy. The council provides access to partners across industries, and represents businesses across the South West in government and Local Authority discussions.

  • The Villages Together Partnership

    In 2012, Woolavington and Puriton were chosen as one of just 150 areas across England to receive £1 million of National Lottery funding through the Big Local programme.

    From 2015 until the project ended in 2026, Shal acted as the Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO) for the Villages Together project, looking after financial administration and legal responsibilities for the lottery funding.

    The project had an amazing impact on the communities of Woolavington and Puriton and we are proud to have played a part. You can find out more about Villages Together on their legacy website.

  • EG Carter

    EG Carter are a family-owned construction company operating across South West England. Most recently, they built 14 new Shal homes in Woolavington. These modern, energy efficient homes have grown our Shal community and support our objectives to provide high-quality homes and provide long-term sustainability.

  • Summerfield Homes

    Summerfield Homes are a Somerset-based developer that provide modern and sustainable homes. In 2025 they completed 5 Shal flats in Watchet, with more homes scheduled for the next financial year. This continuing partnership enables us to provide high-quality homes that support communities across Somerset.

Specialist contractors

We are proud to partner with a number of local specialist contractors to deliver a range of services, including gas safety checks, asbestos surveys, and waste management. Partnering with local businesses ensures we are supporting both our tenants and the wider Somerset community.
